Management consultants like their two-by-two matrixes (e.g. The Boston Box), simple two dimensional graphs (e.g. The Product Life-cycle), simple progressive development models (e.g. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs), and small factor analysis tools (e.g. The 3[or is it 4?] Communication Preferences).  Whilst these are helpful in making sense of a complex world, they don’t make the world any less complex in reality.
